Barrenjoey lighthouse
Historic lighthouse on the
northern
headland of Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River
Built
in 1881 from sandstone quarried on the site
A
heritage-listed lighthouse at Barrenjoey Headland, Palm Beach,
Northern
Beaches Council.
It was
designed by James Barnet, the New South Wales
Colonial Architect and built
by Isaac Banks. It is also known as
Barrenjoey Head Lightstation.
The
property is owned by Office of Environment and Heritage, an agency
of the
Government of New South Wales.
The
lightstation was added to the New South Wales
State
Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
Completed
in 1881, the current lighthouse is the third
light constructed on the
Barrenjoey headland in the Northern
Beaches district of Sydney.
The
light is automated and operated by Roads and
Maritime Services; while the
buildings are managed by the NSW
National Parks & Wildlife
Service.

used for exterior filming of the soap opera Home
and Away, as the fictional
town of Summer
Bay.
It is also the subject of the newly-announced 2018 film 'Palm
Beach'.
Palm Beach housing ranges from cottages to grand estates,
owned by some of
the country's most affluent people.

Located north of Collaroy beach. One of Australia's
most iconis surfing beaches well known for
north Narrabeen break. Breding ground
for some of the world\s greatest surfers.
Became a national surfing rerserve in 2009.
Curl curl beach
Located between Dee Why and Freshwater beach
One of Sydney's best surfing beach. It faces east and
south east with on the average, 1.6m waves.
A 1.2km beach divided into north and south beaches
each with their own surf club amd kiosk.
